Goucher Art Galleries is pleased to present Temporal Disruption Culture Club, a solo exhibition by artist, writer, and editor Agustin Rosa.

At the center of Temporal Disruption Culture Club is a sculptural installation that transforms the passage of time into a physical object. A receipt printer releases a line of poetry every minute onto a continuous, 1,000-foot roll of paper. Minute by minute, the poem grows. Language accumulates on the gallery floor as an expanding material record of time passed.

Behind the sculpture, a television scrolls poems and other texts, while additional text-based works extend language throughout the installation. Across these different forms, words repeat, circulate, disappear, and return. Rather than presenting poetry as something fixed on a page, Rosa places language in motion, allowing it to unfold according to different rhythms and durations.

The installation offers a playful intervention into something that ordinarily seems fixed: linear time. Rosa considers clocks not as neutral instruments but as systems intertwined with histories of empire, commerce, industrialization, and labor. Standardized time synchronized human activity across geographic distances, but it also increasingly organized everyday life around measurement and productivity. Today, our minutes are scheduled, tracked, optimized, and assigned value.

Temporal Disruption Culture Club makes this relationship strangely tangible. The receipt printer follows the clock precisely—one minute, one line—yet what it produces is poetry. A mechanism associated with commerce and transaction instead records language. As the paper accumulates, the orderly measurement of minutes becomes excessive, unruly, and increasingly difficult to contain.

Through repetition, loops, spirals, and accumulation, Rosa asks what might happen if past, present, and future were allowed to overlap rather than proceed neatly along a single trajectory. The exhibition invites us to imagine other temporalities shaped not solely by clocks and productivity, but by bodies, environments, memory, attention, and collective experience.

Whose future are we living in? What kinds of temporal dimensions might we feel rather than measure? And what futures might become possible if we imagine them together?

Agustin Rosa is an artist, writer, and editor from Rosario, Argentina. Their work explores speculative storytelling, digital interfaces, and traditional book- and object-making techniques. Rosa is an editor at Dead Alive Press and Taper magazine and a co-founder of Sleepwalker Collective, a DIY curatorial space serving artists in Baltimore. They are an alum of the School for Poetic Computation and hold a B.A. in Creative Writing from Columbia University and an M.F.A. in Studio Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
